This week we will finalize chapter 2 in physics and in chemistry we will be working on sections 11.11, 12.1 and 12.2.
In general your performance in the last quiz in physics was not satisfactory, so we will have another quiz in chapter two before the test next Tuesday Feb 7. The material included in this test is:

• Chapter 2 with all of its exercises.
• The two lab sheets (Lab skills and Conservation of energy in a bouncing ball)

To prepare well for the test:

• Review all work done in class. you may need to redo most of the exercises.
• there are additional exercises at the end of the book, try to do some of them.
• your test will include one exercise that was solved in class, and one or two multiple choice questions from the recommended link for the book's website.

We are expected to correct the review exercises section 2.3
Explain section 2.4- Calculating speed and velocity
work on section 2.4 practice problems and section veview exercises as classwork or homework in addition to a number of selected problems from the end of chapter. Expect a quiz in Ch 4 by Thursday or Friday before we start Chapter 3.

In Physics, we have covered sections 2.1 and 2.2 with their practice exercises up till now. you do the two extra exercises as a H.W for thursday. By the end of Friday we must finish section 2.3, practice problems 9 till 13 and practice problems 14 till 19. The section review exercises 19 till 24 on page 42 may be your HW for the weekend.

as for chapter 11, the quiz that you did on tuesday is a good practice for you.Don't forget to study the periodic table. the two worksheets done in class will be helpful for revision.

I hope you had enough rest and fun during the vacation. It's time to start preparing for your coming Chemistry test on Friday January 13. You are responsible for the following:

·         Chapter 4 sections 4.1 till 4.9 with their exercises (sections 4.10 and 4.11 are NOT included)

·         Article chemistry of lighting

·         Chapter 11: study sections 11.1 till 11.8 from the notes in handouts.
